We are taking another step towards regional sustainability by sponsoring a horse chestnut tree at Kaiser-Josef-Platz in Graz. Through this initiative, we not only support the city’s efforts to promote urban greening but also recognize the exceptional commitment of our own team.
The tree is dedicated to PAYER’s Sustainability Team, which was honored with the Value Creation Award at this year’s internal event, the Global Innovation & Value Creation Day. This recognition highlights not only the team’s outstanding dedication to fostering sustainable development within the company and ensuring a worth living future but also underscores the effective and successful collaboration across departments.

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, PAYER was officially presented with the tree sponsorship certificate by Ökoprofit in a celebratory ceremony held at the University of Arts Graz. The certificate was handed over by Deputy Mayor Judith Schwentner.
The City of Graz’s Tree Sponsorship Initiative
This year, the City of Graz launched an initiative offering citizens and businesses the opportunity to sponsor trees. The program aims to promote urban greenery and enhance the ecological benefits of trees. Trees are not only beautiful additions to the urban landscape but also critical players in climate protection: they provide shade, help cool the city, improve air quality, and reduce the risk of flooding.
