Ambassador of Malaysia visits PAYER’s Headquarters

PAYER welcomes the Ambassador of Malaysia in Vienna at the Styrian headquarters and presents the Group.

On the morning of March 30, 2022, PAYER had the honor to receive the Ambassador of Malaysia, Mr. Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim, at the Styrian headquarters in St. Bartholomä. Furthermore, Dr. Gerhard Berka, President of the Austrian-Malaysian Society, and Mr. Christof Grabner, Austrian-Malaysian Round Table, were warmly welcomed.

In addition to the company presentation by Michael Viet (CEO PAYER Group), Gabriel Hirner (CFO PAYER Group) and Harald Riedlhuber (General Manager Business Unit Healthcare & Medical), the latest investment plans and the further expansion at the site in St. Bartholomä as well as the current project activities in Malaysia were presented. Afterwards, a guided tour through the production was organized and PAYER’s competences as well as technologies along the value chain were shown.

“For us, the expansion to Malaysia and thus the diversification of our supply chain is an important step for the future of our company, enabling further growth potential,” reports Mag. Michael Viet.

Last year, it was decided to expand the global corporate structure and establish a new production site in the Southeast Asia region. After an intensive selection process and thorough research, the choice fell on Kedah, Malaysia (north of Penang) in April last year. Currently, intensive work is being done on the construction and completion so that production can start in the second half of the year.
